Finance
The Finance category covers the path a document takes from entering the company to appearing in the financial statements. Accounting, Expenses, collections, Spreadsheet, electronic signature and document management run in the same database; data is entered once.
Full accounting, from the journal entry to the financial statements
Odoo Accounting brings customer invoices, vendor bills, bank transactions and payments together in a single journal structure. Every transaction produces a double entry; the entry is created the moment the invoice is confirmed. When the bank statement arrives, matches with open invoices are suggested, and rules can be defined for recurring transactions. The Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Trial Balance and aged reports are produced from the same entries without any separate work.

Carries employee expenses from the receipt to the accounting entry
The Expenses app collects in one place what an employee pays out of pocket or spends on the company's behalf. The receipt is uploaded from a phone, sent by email or dragged and dropped; Odoo scans the receipt and creates an expense record with the total amount and the date. The records are gathered into a single expense report and go to the defined approver. The approved report is posted to the accounting journal and is either paid to the employee or reinvoiced to the customer.

A payment provider connection for collecting invoices online
Payments is the layer that connects Odoo to a payment provider. When the invoice is sent by email, the customer follows the link into the portal, sees the amount and clicks pay. The provider list holds options such as Iyzico, Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Mollie, Razorpay and Worldline. Wire transfer is also defined as a payment method. The contract with the provider is between you and the provider; Odoo does not move the money, it only manages the flow.

A spreadsheet and dashboard connected live to Odoo data
Spreadsheet exists to do away with the habit of exporting Odoo data and passing it around by email. When you insert a list, pivot or chart view into a spreadsheet, Odoo creates a data source; that source connects the spreadsheet to the database. Every time the spreadsheet is opened, the page is reloaded, or it is refreshed by hand from the menu, current data is pulled. Dashboards are built on these spreadsheets too.

Gets contracts and forms signed online and keeps the signed copy
The Sign app removes the print, sign and scan loop. You drag signature, initials, text and date fields onto a PDF and attach each field to a role. The document goes to the parties in the signing order, and signers are sent notifications and reminders. For each signature a hash specific to that operation is generated, and this is how it is traced that the document has not been altered afterwards.

Gathers documents in folders and links them to records and to the workflow
Documents exists to gather company files inside Odoo and to bring them into the workflow. Files are managed from the folder tree on the left; the company-wide area, the personal area, what is shared with you and the trash are separate sections. Every file can be linked to an Odoo record. From a PDF that lands in the Finance folder, a vendor bill, a customer invoice or a credit note is created.

Sales
Odoo's Sales apps keep the process from first contact to payment in a single database. The lead record, the quotation, the order, the POS receipt and the subscription invoice all move through the same customer record.
Pipeline tracking from the lead record to the won opportunity
CRM collects incoming leads, qualifies them and turns them into opportunities. Opportunities are laid out by stage in the kanban view; each card shows the expected revenue, the closing date and the next scheduled activity. Odoo learns from the won and lost data of closed opportunities and calculates a probability of winning for each record. Assignment rules distribute leads to teams and salespeople.

Run quotations, orders and invoicing in one document flow
The Sales app manages the chain of documents from preparing a quotation to taking payment. Quotation templates bring the product lines, the validity period and the terms in ready-made. The customer can sign the quotation online and pay in advance. A confirmed quotation becomes a sales order; the delivery order and, according to the product's invoicing policy, a draft invoice are generated from the order.

A register that runs in the browser and keeps taking sales when the connection drops
Point of Sale is a register application that runs in the browser on a computer or a tablet. When the connection drops temporarily it keeps taking sales, and it syncs the records once the connection is back. Product, stock and customer data is shared with the other Odoo apps. A shift is opened as a session, sales are recorded, and closing the session produces the cash count and the accounting entry.

Floor plan, tabs, kitchen printer and bill splitting
The Restaurant module is installed on top of Point of Sale and adds the steps that food and drink businesses need. Tables are defined on a floor plan; occupancy, bookings and the status of the order sent to the kitchen are followed on screen. Orders are tied to a table or to an open tab and sent to the kitchen and bar printers. The bill can be split between several guests.

Manage recurring sales, invoices and renewals on a single record
The Subscriptions app manages sales that carry recurring revenue. Each subscription is tied to a recurring plan; the plan sets the billing period, the automatic closing period if payment does not arrive, and the customer's self-service rights. Invoices are generated when the period comes round, and if a payment method is saved, the charge is attempted. Renewal, upselling and closing all run from the same record.

One central address book for customer and vendor records
Contacts is the app where Odoo's customer and vendor records are kept. A record is created as a person or a company; the employees attached to a company and separate addresses such as invoice and delivery are gathered under the same record. The sales, purchase and accounting defaults are defined on the record and are carried over to new documents automatically. Smart buttons open every record belonging to that contact.

Let's talk about your Odoo project
Get in touch for a free discovery call and demo.
Website
Odoo's website applications run the corporate site, the online store, the blog, the forum, the learning portal and live chat on the same database. Every record created on the site goes straight into the Sales, Inventory and Accounting modules; no separate transfer is needed.
Build pages with the drag-and-drop editor and connect them to Odoo data
Pages are built by dragging ready-made building blocks; text, images, buttons and the column layout are changed directly on the page. Forms do not only send an email; they open an opportunity in CRM, a ticket in Helpdesk or an application in Recruitment. Odoo compresses uploaded images, converts them to WebP, and generates the sitemap.xml file itself. You can run more than one site and domain name on a single database.

- Forms connected to Odoo

- Multi-language and multi-website

Run products, stock, orders and invoices in a single flow
The products in the store are not a separate catalog; they are the published version of the product records in Odoo. When an order is confirmed a sales order is created, the stock move and the delivery order open automatically, and the invoice is issued from the same record. Variant, pricelist, coupon and gift card definitions are shared with the back office. Odoo 19's ready-made payment providers include Iyzico, which covers Türkiye.

Publish content, tag it, open it to search engines
Posts are prepared with the same editor as the site; the cover image, the tags and the publication status are managed from the post itself. Tags can be split into categories, so the reader filters by topic. The sidebar can show the archive, the tag list, a newsletter signup and social sharing areas. Blog blocks can also be placed on other pages, such as the home page.

Set up a question and answer space, manage contribution with karma
The forum works in two modes: in Questions mode one of the answers is marked as the 'best answer' and one answer per user is allowed, while in Discussions mode the flow is free. User permissions depend on karma points; separate thresholds are defined for asking questions, voting, editing and moderating. Karma is counted in common across all the forums and courses on the site.
- Karma-based permissions
- Moderation tools
- Tags and sorting
- Ranks and badges

Publish courses, track progress and certification
Courses are divided into sections; images, articles, PDFs, video links and quizzes are added as content. The access and enrollment policy is set per course: everyone, signed-in users, course attendees only, or anyone with the link. Enrollment can be open, by invitation or on payment; paid courses are sold through the eCommerce module. Courses and their content are published separately.

Talk to visitors in real time, turn the conversation into an opportunity
Chat channels are configured with an operator list, a welcome message, a button color and a rule set. Channel rules decide on which page, for visitors from which country, and after how many seconds the chat opens. From inside the chat, the operator runs a command to open a CRM opportunity or a ticket; the chat transcript is added to the record. As the chat closes, the visitor gives a satisfaction rating.

Inventory & Manufacturing
Inventory, manufacturing, purchasing, maintenance, repair and quality run on a single database. When a sales order arrives, the material requirement is calculated, a purchase request is raised for the missing items, and whatever has to be produced turns into work orders.
Warehouses, stock moves, lot and serial number tracking
The Inventory module runs receipts, internal transfers and deliveries in one flow. When a reordering rule is defined, a replenishment is triggered as soon as the quantity drops below the threshold. With lot and serial number tracking enabled, you can follow where a product came from and where it went. As the number of warehouses grows, transfers between them are managed from the same system.
- Receipt and delivery steps
- Reordering rule
- Lot and serial number

Bills of materials, work orders, work centers and subcontracting
The Manufacturing module is based on the bill of materials. When a manufacturing order is created, the components are reserved from stock; if operations are defined, the work orders drop to the work centers in sequence. The operator starts and finishes the work order, the time spent is recorded and added to the production cost at the work center's hourly cost. For semi-finished goods, a multi-level bill of materials is set up.
- Bill of Materials (BoM)
- Work order and operations

Requests for quotation, purchase orders and bill control
The Purchase module starts with a request for quotation. For the same need you can send alternative requests for quotation to several vendors and compare the prices. When the order is confirmed, the receipt is created automatically. With three-way matching enabled, the order, the receipt and the vendor bill are compared; if the quantity or the price does not match, the bill stays on hold for review.
- Request for quotation and comparison
- Three-way matching
- Blanket order
- Automated replenishment

Equipment records, periodic maintenance and breakdown requests
The Maintenance module works with equipment records. For each piece of equipment, the responsible person, location, vendor and warranty information are kept; equipment can be linked to a work center. Requests are split into preventive and corrective. When maintenance is scheduled for a work center, you can block the center so that no work order is scheduled on it during that time.

Repair and parts tracking for products returned by customers
The Repair module opens a repair order for a product returned by the customer. The order can be linked to a return record, so you can see which delivery the product came from. On the Parts tab, the parts added, removed and recycled are written on separate lines. If the warranty box is ticked, the cost of the parts is not charged to the customer; if it is not, a quotation is created from the repair order and invoiced.

Control points, quality checks and non-conformity records
The Quality module works through quality control points. You decide on which operation (receipt, manufacturing, delivery) and at what frequency a point is triggered. When it is triggered, the check appears in front of the operator. If the check fails, a quality alert is opened and followed with the product, work center and root cause information. This app is specific to Odoo Enterprise.

Human Resources
Odoo's Human Resources apps hold employee records, recruitment, time off, attendance, appraisals and the vehicle fleet in one database. A record created in one module carries straight into the others, so you do not have to keep separate tables.
Employee record, department, skills and assigned equipment in one place
The Employees module is the data source for the other HR modules. When you pick a department for an employee, the manager field fills in automatically with that department's manager; the time off, expense and attendance approvers are set on the same record. Resumé, skill and certification entries are kept on the record. When someone leaves, the record is archived and the departure reason and contract end date are put on record.
- Employee record tabs

Runs job postings, applications, interviews and offers on one track
Each job position gets its own email address; resumes sent to that address turn into applicant cards automatically. Cards move through six default stages on the Kanban board. At the offer stage the applicant is sent an email with a link to an offer they can sign, and the offer is given an expiration date. Once signing is complete, an employee record is created from the applicant card.

Runs time off types, accrual, approvals and balance tracking
An approval rule is set per time off type: none needed, approval by the Time Off Officer, approval by the employee's approver, or both. When a request is approved, the employee's remaining balance drops and the time off is written to the calendar. Accrual rules are built with an accrual plan; the number of days that increases with length of service is defined through milestones. Public holidays are defined separately and can be excluded from the request calculation.

Check in/check out records, kiosk devices and overtime calculation
There are two ways to check in and out: through the database, or from a kiosk device. The kiosk runs on its own web address that requires no login; the employee scans a barcode badge, or picks their name from the list and enters a PIN. Overtime is calculated from the ruleset you define and is either paid or added to the time off balance. In the settings you can turn off back-office check-in and force kiosk use only.

Vehicle records, driver assignment, services and cost tracking
Model, licence plate, category and odometer information are kept for each vehicle; the only required field on the form is the model, and selecting a model fills in some of the other fields. Driver and future driver are separate fields, and the handover is applied with a single button. Service and contract costs are linked to the vehicle record. The cost report totals these two items by vehicle, driver and period.

Vendor menus, employee orders and account balances
The Lunch module brings three jobs into one application. The manager defines vendors, menu products and extras. The employee picks a location and a date, adds a product to the cart, and the amount is deducted from their account. From the Today's Orders screen the manager marks the order as sent to the vendor, sets it to Received on delivery, and notifies the employee through Discuss. Account top-ups are entered manually.

A cycle of goals, two-sided feedback and the appraisal meeting
An appraisal record is split in two: the employee's own assessment and the manager's assessment. Each side chooses with a toggle when to share its own section, and until a section is shared the other side cannot see it. Goals are tracked with a progress percentage and a deadline; when the manager enters the final rating and marks the record as done, the record is locked. This module is Enterprise-only.

Marketing
Odoo's Marketing apps bring email, SMS, social media, event and survey work together in one database. Who was sent what, who opened it and who left the list all show on the same contact record.
Building, sending and measuring bulk email
You pick recipients not by assembling a list by hand but by setting conditions on records in the database: mailing list, contact, CRM lead, event registration or sales order. Once the filter is set, the screen states how many records it matches. Content is built from ready-made templates, with drag-and-drop blocks, or as plain text. A mailing moves through the Draft, In Queue, Sending and Sent states.
- Recipient selection by filter
- A/B testing
- Unsubscribe and blacklist

Credit-based bulk SMS sending and tracking
A mailing is set up the same way as in Email Marketing: you pick the recipient group, write the text, then send it immediately or schedule it. The counter in the text field shows how many SMS the message will be split into as you type. Tracking links are generated automatically for the links you put in the text. SMS credits have to be bought from Odoo before you can send.

Setting up events, selling tickets and tracking attendees
The event form defines the dates, the display timezone, the venue, the person responsible and the registration limit. The Tickets tab sets up the different ticket types, their prices and their sales dates. The messages on the Communication tab go out by themselves, tied to the registration and the event dates. At the door, an attendee is verified by scanning a code from the Registration Desk screen.

Building surveys, assessments and certifications
The survey form holds the list of questions, and the questions can be split into sections. The Options tab sets the pagination, the time limit, the scoring, the participation rules and the number of attempts. When scoring is turned on, a survey can be configured as an assessment or a certification. Live Session mode collects the answers at the same time.

Infrastructure that carries campaign, medium and source onto records
UTM Trackers is not an app in its own right but the groundwork the marketing apps rely on. It defines three record types: Campaign, Medium and Source. The medium is the broadest (social media, email, cost per click), the source is narrower (a site name, a search engine, a particular platform), and the campaign is the narrowest. Email Marketing and Marketing Automation produce these values on their own.
- Three separate record types

Multi-step campaign workflows that branch on the response
A campaign consists of a target record type, a filter and a sequence of activities. Each activity can be an email, an SMS or a server action. The workflow branches on the result of the previous step: you define separate steps for those who did not open, did not click or did not reply. A campaign can be tested before it is opened to the whole audience.

Services
Odoo's Services apps keep the whole service business in one database, from sales order confirmation to the invoice. Projects, timesheets, tickets, shifts, appointments and field service tasks all connect to the same customer and contract record.
Track tasks, stages and project profitability on one board
Each project opens as a Kanban board with its own stages. A task is held with priority, tags, customer, deadline and allocated time fields. Visibility is set to private, all internal users or public; a portal user only reaches the tasks they follow. The Reporting section in the project card's menu holds the progress and profitability analyses. Project comes with the Odoo 19 Community edition under the LGPL-3 licence.

Record the hours worked and turn them into an invoiceable quantity
The app opens by default on the My Timesheets screen in grid view; each cell shows the time spent on one project on one day. There are three ways to log time: live with the built-in timer, by hand into a grid cell, or straight from a project task or a helpdesk ticket. If the service product's invoicing policy is "Based on Timesheets", the hours logged carry over to the order line and are invoiced. It comes with the Community edition under the LGPL-3 license.

Collect customer tickets per team and track them with SLAs
You run several support teams from one dashboard, and each team has its own ticket flow and its own stages. Tickets arrive by email, from a website form, from live chat and from WhatsApp. An SLA policy puts a time target on a ticket, and you follow compliance with it through tags and a report. Helpdesk comes with an Odoo Enterprise subscription.

Plan the field job, close it with a worksheet, invoice it
A field service task is opened by hand, from a sales order or from a helpdesk ticket. When a quotation with a service product is confirmed, the task is created in the field service project on its own, and you reach it from the Tasks button on the order. The technician fills in the worksheet on the task and adds the product used from the catalog; the products come out of the default warehouse. Field Service is Enterprise-only and requires an Odoo Enterprise subscription.

Plan shifts by role and resource, and publish them to employees
Shifts are assigned to resources; a resource can be an employee, or a non-human item such as a machine. Roles define the type of work and are taken into account by the Auto Plan feature. Shift templates set the start time and the duration in advance; recurring shifts are generated from a single record. Planning comes with the Odoo Enterprise edition and requires an Enterprise subscription.

Let the customer pick a time that suits them and have it land on the calendar
You define appointment types with a duration, a pre-booking condition and an availability window. An appointment can go to a person, or to a resource such as a meeting room, and resources carry a capacity. During booking you can ask the customer extra questions, open a CRM opportunity automatically from the appointment, hold the appointment for manual confirmation, or require an up-front payment before it is confirmed. Appointments comes with an Odoo Enterprise subscription.

Productivity
The productivity modules move internal communication, written knowledge and time management into the Odoo database. Messages, notes, calendar entries and calls sit on the customer or order record they belong to.
Message history that sits on the records, and team channels
Discuss does two jobs at once. The first is the record chatter: under a quotation, invoice or support record sit that record's messages, internal notes and file attachments. Followers of the record are notified of a new message. The second is team communication: channels, direct messages, voice and video calls. Because both are in the same database, correspondence that goes to the customer and internal notes stay visibly apart.
- Record chatter
- Followers and notifications
- Channels and access

Meetings, attendee availability and calendar sync
Calendar holds the meetings linked to Odoo records. You switch between the Day, Week, Month and Year views; when the Attendees box is ticked, the availability of team members appears on the same grid. Recurring events, videocall URLs and external calendar synchronization are supported. You can select your open slots on the calendar and generate a link so the other side picks their own time.

A personal board collecting the views you check often
The Dashboards module is built on top of Odoo views. You open a list, pivot or graph view and add it to your board from the gear icon next to the view name. The board belongs to the user: you choose the column layout, drag components around, collapse them or remove them. Odoo's documentation states that, unlike the other dashboards, this board is not based on Odoo Spreadsheet but directly on views.
- Adding a view to the board
- Layout and arrangement

Nested articles, sharing by permission and embedded views
Knowledge keeps written internal information inside Odoo. Articles are nested; a child article inherits the parent article's access rights and property fields. The sidebar is split into four sections: Favorites, Workspace, Shared and Private. A Kanban, Cards, List or Calendar view can be embedded in an article so the data is managed inside the article.
- Nested article structure
- Access rights

One screen collecting internal approval requests
The Approvals application brings internal requests together in one list. You define the approval types yourself: for each type you set what information is asked for and who approves it. The employee raises the request, the approvers are notified, and each one approves or refuses from their own screen. A colour-coded tag shows the stage the request is at. Approvals comes with the Enterprise edition.

The Enterprise tool for changing fields, views and automation
Studio is, in the words of Odoo's own documentation, a toolbox used to customize Odoo without coding knowledge. It is opened with the Studio icon from inside any application. Adding fields, editing views, creating new models and applications, and defining automation rules, webhooks, PDF reports, approval rules and access rules are all done there. It is Enterprise-only and installing it can affect your pricing plan.

A personal task list, stages and conversion into a project task
To-do is a personal task list. On the Kanban board you drag and drop tasks between stages you define yourself. When a user is assigned to a task, the task is shared with that user. The same list appears in the Project app under My Tasks as a private task with a padlock icon; a task can be converted into a project task from the gear menu.

Calling from inside Odoo with your SIP provider, logged on the record
The VoIP module was renamed Odoo Phone with Odoo 19.0. You connect your own SIP provider; the call is started from the phone widget in the Odoo interface and the conversation is written to the history of the related CRM or Helpdesk record. The provider has to give access to a SIP server over a websocket connection and support WebRTC. The module is Enterprise-only, and the provider subscription is bought separately.

WhatsApp messages from Odoo with Meta-approved templates
The WhatsApp module connects Odoo to Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Documents such as quotations, point of sale receipts and event tickets are sent over WhatsApp; the reply that comes back opens in a Discuss chat window. Messages started by the company use a template approved by Meta, and the approval process runs on Meta's side. The module is Enterprise-only, and the setup takes many steps on Meta's side.
