Payments

A payment provider connection for collecting invoices online

Payments

Puts a pay button in the customer portal and links the incoming payment to the related invoice.

What it does

Payments is the layer that connects Odoo to a payment provider. When the invoice is sent by email, the customer follows the link into the portal, sees the amount and clicks pay. The provider list holds options such as Iyzico, Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Mollie, Razorpay and Worldline. Wire transfer is also defined as a payment method. The contract with the provider is between you and the provider; Odoo does not move the money, it only manages the flow.

Provider connection

Each payment provider comes with the list of payment methods it supports; you enable the ones you need. The provider is an external service, while the payment method is the instrument the customer uses. Odoo bundles a demo provider for testing, so you can try the flow without opening a live account.

Collecting through the portal

The feature is enabled from the Customer Payments section of the Accounting settings. When you send the invoice by email, the customer clicks the link, sees the invoice in the portal and clicks pay. When the payment is completed, the record is linked to the invoice, so you do not have to go looking for the payment separately.

Wire transfer and payment in person

You are not obliged to use an online provider. The wire transfer method is in the list by default, but it does not work until you enter your account details. Options such as cash on delivery or pay on site can also be defined; these happen outside Odoo, and their record is closed manually.

Capabilities that differ by provider

Saved card details, manual capture, refunds and express checkout are not supported the same way by every provider. Adyen, for example, supports saving card details; Iyzico is a redirect provider, so those three are handled in the provider's own panel rather than on an Odoo screen. We pick the provider by comparing those differences against what you actually need.

We don't just install the module — we fit it to your business

ASON picks the payment provider that fits you on criteria such as tokenization, refund and manual capture support; configures the provider and the wire transfer method in the Accounting settings, and tests portal collection with the demo provider before going live.

Frequently asked questions

Which provider can we use in Türkiye?

Iyzico is on Odoo's list of supported providers; international options such as Stripe, PayPal, Adyen and Mollie are on the list as well. Which one suits your business depends on the currency you work in, the commission rates, and whether the provider will open a merchant account for you. You discuss that part with the provider yourself; we set up and test the Odoo-side connection of the provider you choose.

Our virtual POS is not on Odoo's ready-made list. What are our options?

There are three routes. The first is to work with one of the providers on Odoo's ready-made list. The second is to use a suitable one of the third-party modules published on Odoo Apps. The third, if none of them fits, is to have a custom module written for your bank's virtual POS service. We look together at which one suits you.

Are there ready-made modules for the virtual POS of Turkish banks?

Modules have been published on Odoo Apps for the virtual POS of Garanti, İş Bankası, Akbank, Ziraat and Yapı Kredi. There are also modules compatible with Odoo 17, 18 and 19 for PayTR, Param, Sipay and Moka. We check before the setup that the module you choose matches your version.

Are these third-party modules supported by Odoo?

No. These modules are not supported by Odoo SA, and their continuity across version upgrades depends on the developer who wrote them. For corporate use that is a risk, so we look together at the module's maintenance history and at which versions it has been updated for. You need to know this from the start.

Can you write a custom module for our bank's virtual POS?

We can. A custom module is developed on top of Odoo's payment provider framework for your bank's virtual POS service. How long that takes depends on the bank's technical documentation; we make no promise on duration or scope before we have seen it. We review the documentation first and then set the scope out in writing.

Is installment card payment supported?

Odoo has no separate installment card payment feature. Whether installments are handled on the provider's side is unclear too, so we do not claim they are. If installments matter to you, ask your provider directly; we will then look at what that answer requires on the Odoo side.

Our customer has paid. Does the invoice close on its own?

A payment made through the portal is linked to the related invoice, and a payment entry is created on the accounting side. For amounts that come in by wire transfer, the closing is done from the bank statement; when Odoo sees the statement line it suggests the invoice to match, and the invoice closes once you confirm. During the setup we define from the start which collection channel writes to which journal.
