Inventory & Manufacturing
Inventory, manufacturing, purchasing, maintenance, repair and quality run on a single database. When a sales order arrives, the material requirement is calculated, a purchase request is raised for the missing items, and whatever has to be produced turns into work orders.
How the flow works from demand to delivery
- 01
A demand appears
A sales order is entered, or a reordering rule is triggered. Odoo opens the bill of materials and lists the components that are not in stock.
- 02
Procurement and manufacturing
A request for quotation is created for the items to be bought, and a manufacturing order for the items to be produced. If operations are defined, work orders are distributed to the work centers.
- 03
Quality and recording
Quality control points come into play at receipt and at manufacturing steps. The product is assigned a lot or a serial number.
- 04
Delivery and tracking
The product is shipped. From the serial number you can trace back which component was used from which lot.

Why ASON
A single stock record
Purchasing, manufacturing and sales use the same stock moves. There is no need to keep a separate table for warehouse quantities, and count differences show up in one place.
A team that knows manufacturing
ASON produces electrical panels and electronic boards. It sets up bills of materials, subcontracting and lot tracking according to the structure it knows from its own production line.
Traceability
Once lot and serial number tracking is enabled, every move is recorded. For a product returned from the field, the report shows which component lot was used.

Frequently asked questions
Which module should we start with?
Usually you start with Inventory and Purchase. Product records, units of measure, warehouse locations and vendors sit in these two modules; Manufacturing is built on top of them. Bills of materials and operations come after the stock data is running properly.
When do we bring in the Maintenance, Repair and Quality modules?
These three are usually opened once the manufacturing flow has settled. Maintenance is tied to equipment records and Quality to the operations on the bill of materials, so the manufacturing side has to be running first. The Repair module works with delivery and return records. We set the order together, based on the list of requirements.
Can you migrate our existing stock and bill of materials data?
Yes. Product records, vendors, stock quantities and bills of materials can be imported from an Excel or CSV file. Before the import we review your current data and pull out missing fields and duplicate records. A clear cut-over date is set; moves after that date are recorded only in Odoo.
How are opening balances transferred for lot- and serial-tracked products?
Opening balances are transferred together with their lot and serial numbers; the numbers are given in the same file. After the import, on-hand quantities are compared against a physical count. If there is a difference, it is closed with an inventory adjustment entry, so the quantity in Odoo starts from the same point as the quantity in the warehouse.
Are these modules available in the Odoo Community edition?
Inventory, Purchase, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Repair are in the Community edition. Quality and PLM (product lifecycle management) are specific to Odoo Enterprise; if you need those two apps, you need Enterprise. We confirm the edition boundaries against the current app list before implementation. We decide together which edition fits your work after drawing up a list of requirements.
Which edition has the Barcode app and the shop floor tablet interface?
Both are on the Odoo Enterprise side and are not available in the Community edition. The Barcode app runs receipts, transfers, picking and counting with a scanner, and supports GS1 barcodes. The shop floor tablet interface (Shop Floor) is specific to Enterprise in the same way. If you are going to use scanners in the warehouse, the edition choice has to account for that.
How long does the implementation take?
The duration depends on the number of modules, the scope of the data migration and how much customization is needed. We first map your current flow and list which steps fit Odoo's standard structure and which ones require development. We give the schedule after that analysis; any duration given before the analysis is an estimate. Training and go-live are part of that schedule.
Can we move to Odoo without manufacturing data?
Yes. The Manufacturing module can be opened without a bill of materials, but at least one bill of materials is needed to produce a work order. During the implementation, the bills of materials and operations of a few products are usually defined first, the flow is tested, and the remaining products are imported in bulk. If you have semi-finished goods, the multi-level bill of materials structure is planned from the start.
Is the material requirement calculated automatically when a sales order arrives?
Yes. When a sales order is entered or a reordering rule is triggered, Odoo opens the bill of materials and lists the components that are not in stock. A request for quotation is created for the items to be bought, and a manufacturing order for the items to be produced. If operations are defined, work orders are distributed to the work centers.
Do you train our team after the implementation?
Yes. ASON Teknoloji Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi is an Odoo Learning Partner. Alongside the implementation it trains the warehouse and manufacturing teams module by module, and the same team handles usage questions after go-live. Which team is trained on which module is decided while the list of requirements is drawn up.
How do Türkiye-specific integrations (e-İrsaliye, shipping) work on the warehouse side?
The e-İrsaliye is produced straight from the delivery order and sent from Odoo; the person doing the shipment never switches to another program. On the shipping side, Odoo's built-in connectors are for international carriers; for carriers in Türkiye a third-party module is used, and we evaluate its maintenance continuity together before the choice.
