hr_timesheetTimesheets
Record the hours worked and turn them into an invoiceable quantity

Records the time spent per project and task in a grid view; the entries feed the service line on the sales order.
What it does
The app opens by default on the My Timesheets screen in grid view; each cell shows the time spent on one project on one day. There are three ways to log time: live with the built-in timer, by hand into a grid cell, or straight from a project task or a helpdesk ticket. If the service product's invoicing policy is "Based on Timesheets", the hours logged carry over to the order line and are invoiced. It comes with the Community edition under the LGPL-3 license.
Grid view
The My Timesheets screen opens in grid view; each cell holds the time logged to one project on that day. Daily and period totals are shown with color codes. A day with a missing entry stands out in the list immediately.
Three ways to log time
Time is recorded live with the built-in timer, typed by hand into a grid cell, or entered from a project task or a helpdesk ticket. Hours entered from a task create the same timesheet entry; a second entry is not needed.
Linking to invoicing
On the service product, the product type is set to Service and the invoicing policy to "Based on Timesheets". When the order is confirmed, the project and the task are created. Hours entered on the task's Timesheets tab carry over to the Order Lines tab of the order and go onto the invoice.
Tracking billability
Billing Rate Indicators is enabled in the settings and a monthly target is entered on the employee form. The My Timesheets screen shows "logged billable time / target" and its percentage; it is red below the target and green once the target is reached.
We don't just install the module — we fit it to your business
ASON defines which projects keep timesheets and who sees which entry; sets up your service products with the based-on-timesheets invoicing policy, enters the billability target per employee, and gives your team hands-on practice with grid entry.

Frequently asked questions
Can we invoice a service without keeping timesheets?
Yes. If the service product's invoicing policy is set to "Ordered quantities", a fixed amount is invoiced on order confirmation and a time entry is not required. Timesheets are needed for work invoiced on the time spent. The two methods can be used side by side per product in the same database; fixed-price work and hourly work run next to each other.
Which apps have to be installed for hours to turn into an invoice?
Sales, Project and Timesheets need to be installed together; the three of them provide the invoicing link, under the LGPL-3 license. Timesheets on its own does not produce an invoice. We configure all three together during the setup.
Does Timesheets require an Enterprise subscription?
No. Timesheets comes with the Odoo 19 Community edition under the LGPL-3 license, and the link to Sales is in the same edition under the same license. Enterprise is only needed in scenarios where the hours are entered through Enterprise apps such as Helpdesk.
Are hours entered on a helpdesk ticket invoiced too?
Timesheets works together with Project and Helpdesk; time can be entered from a ticket. For those hours to turn into an invoice, the ticket has to be linked to a sales order line and the service product involved has to be invoiced based on timesheets. Helpdesk is an Enterprise-only module. We define this link together during the setup.
How is time logged — does every day have to be typed in by hand?
There are three ways: recording live with the built-in timer, typing into a grid cell on the My Timesheets screen, or entering it from a project task or a helpdesk ticket. Hours entered from a task create the same timesheet entry; a second entry is not needed. Timesheets are switched on and off per project.
Can we track a billable time target?
Yes. Billing Rate Indicators is enabled in the settings and a monthly target is entered on the employee form. The My Timesheets screen shows the billable time logged, the target and the percentage; it is red below the target and green once the target is reached. A leaderboard can be enabled from the same settings.
Where does the hourly cost come from?
The hourly cost is held on the employee record. A timesheet entry is written to the project's cost side at that rate, while the revenue side comes from the sales order. You see the difference between the two in the project profitability report. Entering the hourly cost correctly is what makes that report accurate.
