Pipeline tracking from the lead record to the won opportunity

Tracks leads and opportunities in a pipeline divided into stages and schedules the next activity for each record.
What it does
CRM collects incoming leads, qualifies them and turns them into opportunities. Opportunities are laid out by stage in the kanban view; each card shows the expected revenue, the closing date and the next scheduled activity. Odoo learns from the won and lost data of closed opportunities and calculates a probability of winning for each record. Assignment rules distribute leads to teams and salespeople.
Pipeline management
Opportunities are gathered on a kanban board by stage. You change the stage by dragging the card. Lost opportunities are marked with a lost reason and tracked separately in the reports; similar records belonging to the same customer can be merged into a single opportunity.
Predictive lead scoring
Odoo produces a probability of winning for each opportunity with a naive Bayes model. The model always uses the stage and the sales team; country, state, language, source, tags and the presence of a phone number and an email address can be added as variables from the settings. The probability can be changed manually, but it cannot be set to one hundred percent.
Lead generation
With Lead Mining, new company records are pulled into your database using filters for country, industry, number of employees, role and seniority. Each generated record costs one credit, and each piece of contact information costs an additional credit. The credits are valid only for this service and are not interchangeable with other Odoo services.
Activities and reporting
A call, meeting or email activity is scheduled on each opportunity; records whose activity is overdue are listed in a separate report. The win/loss analysis, expected revenue and forecast reports show the state of the pipeline broken down by stage, team and salesperson.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to use the lead stage?
No. Leads can be switched off in the settings; incoming records then open directly as opportunities. Teams that have no separate qualification step, where every contact carries a real chance of a sale, generally switch leads off. For teams with a heavy flow of leads of mixed quality, keeping the two apart keeps the pipeline clean.
How is the probability of winning calculated?
Odoo processes the won and lost data of your closed opportunities with a naive Bayes model and produces a probability for each one. The model always uses the stage and the sales team; country, state, language, source, tags and the presence of a phone number and an email address can be added as variables from the settings. The probability can be changed manually, but not set to one hundred percent.
How reliable is the probability of winning?
The model works from your own history, so the prediction settles as the number of closed opportunities grows. In a newly set up database there is little data in the first months, so do not use this number on its own as the basis for a decision. The probability field on the opportunity form updates on its own as the record changes.
How are leads distributed to salespeople?
Assignment rules are defined at team and salesperson level. A rule consists of field-based conditions, for example a probability threshold, a country or a tag. An assignment capacity can be set for each salesperson. The distribution can be run manually, or set to repeat on its own at the interval you choose.
Can we pull in new company records from outside?
With Lead Mining, new company records are pulled into your database using filters for country, industry, number of employees, role and seniority. Each generated record costs one credit, and each piece of contact information costs an additional credit. The credits are valid only for this service and are not interchangeable with other Odoo services.
Are leads created automatically from the website form and from email?
Yes. Records coming from the website contact form land in CRM as leads. Messages sent to an email alias also turn into lead records. The incoming record is given to a team and a salesperson by the assignment rules. To track where a record came from, the source, medium and campaign fields are kept on the same form.
How do we track lost opportunities?
A lost opportunity is marked with a lost reason and tracked separately in the lost opportunity report. The win/loss analysis, expected revenue and forecast reports show the state of the pipeline broken down by stage, team and salesperson. Similar records belonging to the same customer can be merged into a single opportunity.
