A register that runs in the browser and keeps taking sales when the connection drops

Records shop sales from a browser-based register screen and produces the accounting entry when the session is closed.
What it does
Point of Sale is a register application that runs in the browser on a computer or a tablet. When the connection drops temporarily it keeps taking sales, and it syncs the records once the connection is back. Product, stock and customer data is shared with the other Odoo apps. A shift is opened as a session, sales are recorded, and closing the session produces the cash count and the accounting entry.
Sessions and cash
Each shift is opened as a session. The opening and closing cash is counted and the difference is reported. When the session is closed, the sales are posted to accounting. The per-session sales report is displayed broken down by cashier, payment method and product.
Working offline
The register screen runs locally in the browser. When the internet goes down it keeps taking sales and holds the orders on the device; once the connection is back, the records are synced to the server. Card terminals and methods that require an online payment cannot be used during that time.
Payment methods
Cash, a card terminal, a bank app QR code, a cash machine and a customer account are defined as separate payment methods. Each method is tied to an accounting journal. The one-click payment option skips the payment screen for the methods you select.
Pricing and loyalty
Pricelists, manual or automatic discounts, cash rounding and fiscal positions are applied on the register screen. The loyalty program, gift cards and the eWallet are configured separately. Presets bring a given pricelist and tax set into effect with a single selection.

Frequently asked questions
Does the register stop if the internet goes down?
Because the register screen runs locally in the browser, it keeps taking sales; orders build up on the device and are synced when the connection is back. During that time the card terminal, online payments and any queries that depend on the server do not work. Cash sales and a receipt printer on the local network are not affected. The browser tab on the device must not be closed.
Does a separate program have to be installed on the computer for the register?
No. Point of Sale runs in the browser on a computer or a tablet; no separate client installation is needed. A barcode scanner, a receipt printer, a cash drawer and a payment terminal are connected to the register. The printer and terminal connections are defined in the register's own configuration. Several employees can log in to the same register on a role basis.
Does it integrate with an ÖKC (Türkiye's mandatory fiscal cash register)?
Odoo's Türkiye localization documentation covers e-Fatura, e-Arşiv, e-Defter and e-İrsaliye; it says nothing about ÖKC integration. If you are subject to the ÖKC requirement in retail sales, this has to be planned as a separate integration project. Before the project starts, ASON examines whether the ÖKC brand you use has an open interface.
Is there a ready-made module in the Odoo Apps store for Turkish fiscal cash registers?
In a scan made in September 2026, no Odoo module was found for Ingenico, Verifone, Hugin, Profilo, Beko or GMP3. The fiscal printer modules in the store belong to Italy, Bulgaria and Poland. For that reason no ÖKC integration is promised through a ready-made module. If the modules in the store change, the situation is looked at again.
Which card terminals work with Odoo?
Odoo's ready-made terminal integrations are for providers abroad, and the face-to-face coverage of those providers does not include Türkiye. In Türkiye your bank POS keeps working independently of Odoo at the register; the amount collected is recorded as a card payment method and lands in the accounting journal it is tied to. You do not have to change your existing arrangement with your bank.
How does the register close at the end of a shift?
Each shift is opened as a session; the opening and closing cash is counted and the difference is reported. When the session is closed, the sales are posted to accounting. Because each payment method is tied to an accounting journal, the entry is split across those journals. The per-session sales report is displayed broken down by cashier, payment method and product.
How many shops and how many registers can I define?
You can set up as many registers as you need; there is no upper limit. Each register becomes a separate Point of Sale configuration with its own payment methods, pricelist, printer and stock location. In multi-company setups the registers are separated by company. The practical limit is on user licences and hardware.
