Floor plan, tabs, kitchen printer and bill splitting

Adds table layout, tab tracking, kitchen orders and bill splitting to Point of Sale.
What it does
The Restaurant module is installed on top of Point of Sale and adds the steps that food and drink businesses need. Tables are defined on a floor plan; occupancy, bookings and the status of the order sent to the kitchen are followed on screen. Orders are tied to a table or to an open tab and sent to the kitchen and bar printers. The bill can be split between several guests.
Floor plan and tables
Several floors are defined and tables are laid out on each floor. A table's number of seats, shape, color and size are set. The floor plan view shows whether a table is occupied, its booking status and the status of the order sent to the kitchen.
Tabs and courses
An order is tied to a table or kept as an open tab. Order lines can be split into courses, and each course is fired to the kitchen in turn. That way the starter and the main course do not come out at the same time; you manage the order of service from the register screen.
Kitchen and bar printers
Networked printers are defined separately for the kitchen and the bar. Which product goes to which printer is set through the Point of Sale product category. Items added to an order later also land at the relevant printer.
Bill splitting and tips
A single tab is split into several payments, and the split can be made per product. The bill can be printed before payment. Tip collection can be switched on, and the tip is added at the register at the moment of sale. Adding a tip after payment through the terminal requires a terminal supported in Türkiye, so it is out of scope.

Frequently asked questions
Is Restaurant a separate app?
No, it is an add-on installed on top of Point of Sale and does not run without it. Once it is installed, you switch the restaurant features on in the relevant Point of Sale configuration. Both a retail register and a restaurant register can be defined in the same database; each register carries its own settings. The module is available in the Odoo Community edition as well.
How do we manage tables on the floor plan?
Several floors are defined and tables are laid out on each floor; a table's number of seats, shape, color and size are set. The floor plan view shows whether a table is occupied, its booking status and the status of the order sent to the kitchen. The booking feature for table reservations can be linked to the register screen.
How do orders reach the kitchen?
Networked printers are defined separately for the kitchen and the bar; which product goes to which printer is set through the Point of Sale product category. Items added to an order later also land at the relevant printer. Order lines can be split into courses, and each course is fired to the kitchen in turn.
Can we split the bill between several guests?
Yes, bill splitting is part of the Restaurant module. A single tab is split into several payments, and the split can be made per product. The bill can be printed before payment. The order can be tied to a table or kept as an open tab; the split is made from the same screen in both cases.
Can we collect tips?
You can switch tip collection on; the tip is added on the register screen at the moment of sale. Adding a tip after payment through the terminal requires a payment terminal supported in Türkiye, so it is out of scope. Because your bank POS works independently of Odoo in Türkiye, taking the tip at the register is the route that works in practice.
Can I apply a different VAT rate for eat-in and take-out?
Yes. Odoo handles this with fiscal positions: a separate fiscal position is defined for eat-in and for take-out, and each one replaces the product's default tax with another rate. On the register screen the choice is made by order type, or it is applied through a preset. The rates have to be defined according to the legislation in force.
Can guests order from their own phone?
Yes, that is what the self-ordering feature is for. A guest who scans the QR code on the table sees the menu on their own phone and places the order. Taking orders from a separate kiosk device is supported as well. Whether payment is taken at the time of the order or at the end of the service depends on the configuration.
