Calling from inside Odoo with your SIP provider, logged on the record

The Enterprise module where you connect your SIP provider, call from the browser and attach the conversation to a record.
What it does
The VoIP module was renamed Odoo Phone with Odoo 19.0. You connect your own SIP provider; the call is started from the phone widget in the Odoo interface and the conversation is written to the history of the related CRM or Helpdesk record. The provider has to give access to a SIP server over a websocket connection and support WebRTC. The module is Enterprise-only, and the provider subscription is bought separately.
Phone widget
The widget has Keypad, Recent, Contacts and Activities tabs. A number is typed in by hand, the last number called is dialed again, or a contact is picked from the Contacts tab. While a call is running you keep working on Odoo's other screens; a contact is found with the search box.
Calls attached to the record
The module works with CRM and Helpdesk; calls and messages are written to the history of the related record. The Activities tab lists the call activities assigned to that day. An activity is marked as done, its due date is changed, or it is cancelled.
Transfer and incoming calls
On an incoming call the widget rings and shows a notification; it is answered with the green phone icon. The call is transferred by pressing the transfer arrows and entering the target user's extension. With the envelope icon in the widget, an email can be written to the same contact after the call.
Devices and softphones
The widget runs in the browsers of desktop and laptop computers. Because it is SIP-compatible, it can also be used with softphones such as Zoiper Lite and Linphone. Outgoing calls can be made on mobile, but the Odoo Phone app does not ring on incoming calls; a softphone is needed to stay reachable at all times.
We don't just install the module — we fit it to your business
ASON enters your SIP provider's account details and checks the websocket and WebRTC requirements together with the provider; sets up the extensions and the transfer arrangement, and shows your team how the call is written onto the related CRM or helpdesk record.

Frequently asked questions
Is VoIP (Odoo Phone) available on the Community edition?
No. Odoo Phone depends on an Enterprise subscription; on a Community installation it does not appear in the app list. On top of the Odoo licence you also need a subscription with a SIP provider. If you want to stay on a Community installation, we can discuss alternatives such as keeping call records as manual activities.
Is there a cost on top of the Odoo license?
Yes. Alongside the Odoo Enterprise subscription, a SIP provider subscription is also needed, and that fee is independent of Odoo. The subscription fees stay with you; opening the account and connecting it to Odoo is part of the setup.
Does it work with an operator in Türkiye?
There is no list of providers confirmed to work in Türkiye; we measure compatibility during the setup. Whether a provider works depends on two conditions: it has to expose its SIP server over a websocket connection and it has to support WebRTC. We check your current provider's or IP phone system's technical documentation together against these two points, and run a test setup before the decision.
Can we connect our existing phone system to Odoo?
Whether it can be connected depends on your phone system exposing its SIP server over a websocket and supporting WebRTC. Many classic IP phone systems do not provide these two features by default; some need an extra module or a WebRTC gateway. We look at the documentation for your system's model and verify these two items. If it is not suitable, we consider the option of setting up a parallel line with one of the verified providers.
Are the calls written to the customer record?
Yes. The module works with CRM and Helpdesk, and calls and messages are written to the history of the related record. The Activities tab in the widget lists the call activities assigned to that day; an activity is marked as done, its due date is changed, or it is cancelled. After the call, an email can be written to the same contact with the envelope icon.
Can we use it from a mobile phone?
Partly. The widget runs in the browsers of desktop and laptop computers, and outgoing calls can be made on mobile. But the Odoo Phone app does not ring on incoming calls. If you need to stay reachable at all times, a SIP-compatible softphone such as Zoiper Lite or Linphone has to be installed. We go through that option together during the setup for teams working in the field.
Can we transfer an incoming call to another user?
Yes. On an incoming call the widget rings and shows a notification; it is answered with the green phone icon. The call is transferred by pressing the transfer arrows and entering the target user's extension. The widget has Keypad, Recent, Contacts and Activities tabs, and you keep working on Odoo's other screens while a call is running.
