website_blogBlog
Publish content, tag it, open it to search engines

A content module with tag and comment support that lets you manage more than one blog and their posts on the site.
What it does
Posts are prepared with the same editor as the site; the cover image, the tags and the publication status are managed from the post itself. Tags can be split into categories, so the reader filters by topic. The sidebar can show the archive, the tag list, a newsletter signup and social sharing areas. Blog blocks can also be placed on other pages, such as the home page.
Multiple blogs and tags
More than one blog is created under Website > Configuration > Blogs. Tags are defined with a name, a category and a color. Tag categories group related tags and organize the reader's filtering and navigation.
Post and list layout
The cover design, the sidebar, the breadcrumb and the visibility of the author information are set. On the list page, the grid or list layout and the card view are chosen. Comment and view counters can be enabled to make prominent posts stand out.
Reader interaction
Comments can be enabled under a post, and the Next Article link can be shown. Social sharing links and a newsletter subscription area are added to the sidebar. If the Email Marketing application is installed, subscriptions go straight into the mailing list.
SEO and measurement
Title and description tags are edited for each post, and posts enter sitemap.xml. Traffic is tracked through Plausible or Google Analytics. Odoo recommends using a single H1 heading per page and updating the content regularly.

Frequently asked questions
Can we migrate our WordPress blog?
Posts, images and categories can be transferred to Odoo; the migration is planned according to the structure of the exported content. The critical point is the addresses: if no redirects are defined for the old post URLs, your search ranking drops. Before the migration we draw up the list of current URLs and prepare a mapping table.
Does writing posts require any knowledge of code?
No. Posts are prepared with the same editor as the site; text, images and layout are changed directly on the page. The cover image, the tags and the author information are managed from the post screen. With the Published / Unpublished toggle you can keep a post as a draft and publish it when it is ready.
Can we run more than one blog and tag the posts?
Yes. More than one blog is created under Website > Configuration > Blogs, and there is no limit on the number of posts. Tags are defined with a name, a category and a color. Tag categories group related tags, so the reader can filter by topic.
How are comments managed?
Comments can be switched on and off per post. Odoo offers reCAPTCHA-based spam protection for site forms. If your moderation needs are heavy, the Forum module is a better fit; there, posts go for validation according to a karma threshold, and flagging and closing tools come ready. You can also use the two modules together.
Can readers subscribe to a newsletter?
Yes. A newsletter signup area and social sharing links are added to the sidebar. If the Email Marketing application is installed, the subscriptions go straight into the mailing list; you do not have to keep a separate list. A Next Article link can also be shown under the post.
Can we show blog posts on other pages?
Yes. Blog building blocks can be placed on other pages such as the home page or campaign pages, so the latest posts appear across the site. Odoo also recommends spreading blog blocks across the site in terms of SEO. You set which selection appears on which page from the editor.
How are blog posts opened to search engines?
The title and description tags are edited separately for each post, and posts enter sitemap.xml. Odoo recommends using a single H1 heading per page and updating the content regularly. You follow the traffic through Plausible or Google Analytics and see which post is being read.
