stockInventory
Warehouses, stock moves, lot and serial number tracking

Records which warehouse, which location and which lot a product is in, and who performed each move.
What it does
The Inventory module runs receipts, internal transfers and deliveries in one flow. When a reordering rule is defined, a replenishment is triggered as soon as the quantity drops below the threshold. With lot and serial number tracking enabled, you can follow where a product came from and where it went. As the number of warehouses grows, transfers between them are managed from the same system.
Receipt and delivery steps
You can set up receiving in one step, or in three steps as input area, quality control and stock. On the delivery side, pick, pack and ship steps are defined separately. The number of steps is chosen per warehouse.
Reordering rule
A minimum and a maximum quantity are defined for the product. When the on-hand quantity drops below the minimum, Odoo triggers a replenishment: a request for quotation if the product is purchased, a suggested manufacturing order if it is produced. Lead time is taken into account.
Lot and serial number
Tracking is enabled per product. A lot identifies a production or shipment group; a serial number identifies a single unit. The traceability report shows the full move history of one number. Expiration date tracking also works through lots.
Inventory valuation
Standard price, FIFO or average cost can be selected as the valuation method. With automated valuation, a stock move also produces the accounting entry. Additional costs such as freight and customs can be allocated to the product cost.

Frequently asked questions
How do we transfer our existing stock into Odoo?
Product records and opening stock are imported from a CSV file. For lot- or serial-tracked products, the numbers are given in the same file. Before the import, missing fields and duplicate records in the product data are pulled out. A clear cut-over date is set; moves after that date are recorded only in Odoo.
What do we do if the on-hand quantity does not match the count after the import?
After the import, on-hand quantities are compared against a physical count. Any difference is closed with an inventory adjustment entry, and the adjustment stays on record. Counts can be repeated later; Odoo keeps counts and inventory adjustment entries separately. That way you can see on which product and when a difference appeared.
What is the difference between lot tracking and serial number tracking?
A lot covers a group of products: a hundred boards coming out of the same production run can take a single lot number. A serial number identifies a single unit, so every product has its own number. In board manufacturing, components are usually tracked by lot and the finished device by serial number. The two cannot be used together on the same product; one of them is chosen per product.
Can we work with a barcode scanner?
Yes. Odoo's Barcode app runs receipts, transfers, picking and counting with a scanner; the operation is closed by scanning product, location and lot barcodes. GS1 barcodes are supported. The Barcode app is on the Odoo Enterprise side and is not available in the Community edition.
Can we integrate shipping with Turkish couriers?
Of Odoo's own shipping connectors, the ones usable for shipments sent from Türkiye are DHL Express, FedEx, UPS and Envia; the other connectors on the list only work for shipments sent from particular countries, and Turkish couriers are not on that list. Third-party modules for Turkish couriers exist on Odoo Apps, and they are not covered by Odoo's own support. Tell us which courier you work with and we review the options together.
In how many steps can we set up receipts and deliveries?
You can set up receiving in one step, or in three steps as input area, quality control and stock. On the delivery side, pick, pack and ship steps are defined separately. The number of steps is chosen per warehouse; one warehouse can run in a single step while another runs in three.
How do we choose the inventory valuation method?
Standard price, FIFO or average cost can be selected as the valuation method, and the selection is made on the product record. With automated valuation, every stock move also produces the accounting entry. Additional costs such as freight and customs can be allocated to the product cost. We decide which method fits together with your accounting side.
